1. What did you do this past week?

Last week, my team and I completed phase 1 of the project, and I did a lot of review on HTML and CSS to be able to work on the website efficiently. I got more familiar with how Postman works as well. A lot of assignments had been built up from the snow week too, so I had to catch up on other classes too.

2. What’s in your way?

Currently, I think just becoming more experienced with the front-end languages would be good as my team and I improve our website in the next phases. React is something I also want to take a deeper look at.

3. What will you do next week?

Next week, I will coordinate with my team and try to start on the second phase as soon as possible. I’m going to start doing a lot of research on how databases work in detail so that my team is able to implement our website’s database easily. I’m also going to look at the tools required for phase 2 and ensure that I understand them. Last week was really busy, so I want to be proactive in all of my classes.

4. If you read it, what did you think of the Open-Closed Principle?

I have not looked at the paper yet this week.

5. What was your experience of iterators and reduce2? (this question will vary, week to week)

I think I understood iterators well, especially with how much I have seen them in other places and languages. Some questions people asked during class helped me understand the need for iterators in certain situations. Also, I think reduce2 wasn’t really confusing to me.

6. What made you happy this week?

It made me happy this week to finish up all of the assignments that I had not gotten a chance to finish when it was snowing and my power/water was out. I felt like I was getting behind, so it was relieving to get everything completed and out of the way.

7. What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip is that getting started with the phases on the first day is important. My team and I found ourselves looking at many things we’ve never encountered before or haven’t done in a while, so time to learn more about languages, tools, etc. and plan is something that I think would be very useful to be accounted for in estimated time at the beginning. This will help set better schedules.
